Worst of SmackDown before WrestleMania 38: Unpopular star defeated, two major feuds botched

The show was the SmackDown before WrestleMania, and some major events occurred. Despite the fact that it aired the night before The Show of Shows, the episode wasn’t as important, and there wasn’t much action.

Drew McIntyre closed out the show in the final segment, but it was preceded by the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, which kicked off the show. There were some important fights, but no highlights, as even Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar were only highlighted by video package.

Prior to this WrestleMania season, the Pat McAfee vs. Austin Theory match was one of the most memorable. Some argue that Theory annoys McAfee should not be considered a great feud, but it’s been played out so beautifully that it’s difficult not to dislike the former’s sexiness.

It’s been a lot of fun following the saga. Austin Theory’s annoyance to Pat McAfee’s heated exchange in the midst of Vince McMahon’s role as the one with the cool head It’s an underappreciated rivalry. It was one of the best moments of a strange show called SmackDown.

It was an unusual episode of SmackDown because it felt out of the ordinary. It’s understandable that people complain about the length of RAW’s three-hour episodes. However, this was more of a long, drawn-out RAW episode than a quick and clear SmackDown.

There was no interaction between Roman Reigns and Brock L., and we only saw the video package. Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair each had only one promo, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Overall, it did not appear to be a show comparable to the show that followed WrestleMania. It was a huge mistake not to include the women’s and world titles in the main event on SmackDown.

Madcap Moss was the winner of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal in 2022. He won a surprise victory because he was the last person to eliminate US Champion Finn Balor in order to win the event.

This is a strong indication that he intends to make a major singles push following WrestleMania, and it’s not surprising that his partnership with Happy Corbin will come to an end soon. This was a surprising result, but it does not imply that it was negative.

It’s clear that WWE believes Madcap Moss has the potential to be a superstar. Allowing him to be the winner of the SmackDown battle royal was not a bad decision. Finn Balor competed in two matches on the show last week, neither of which he won. The fact that neither he nor Ricochet are on this year’s WrestleMania card is unfortunate because it demonstrates how WWE treats “mid-card championship” wrestlers.

In a six-man tag team match, Austin Theory pinned Balor to the mat. Austin Theory pinned a champion for the second time this week, after defeating Ricochet in a RAW match. However, allowing Finn Balor to be pinned as champion on the night before WrestleMania is not the best choice.

In an important Intercontinental Championship defense, Ricochet faced both from Los Lotharios in a triple threat game. While he had lost the previous week, Ricochet ended up winning a major victory on Monday (in only two minutes, no less).

He defeated both Angel and Humberto when they began to disagree, eventually defeating them and retaining his Intercontinental title. It was one of the best moments in the show despite the fact that it wasn’t particularly exciting.
