Danny Hamlin’s #11 teams were kicked out of Dover Motor Speedway by NASCAR for no fault of Hamlin’s. They were punished by the NASCAR rule book, which says that the team was officially punished for not following Section 10.5.2.6.

Team # 11’s two main drivers and two other drivers have been suspended by NASCAR for four matches for violating the rules. Crew chief Chris Gabehart, Jackman Darrell Edwards, and front tyre changer Blake Houston were the three people who were issued this suspension.

But the strangest part is that, despite being appointed as the front tire changer, Houston was not the one who failed to change the front tire. According to Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports, the man was Mike Hicks, who was listed as the rear tire changer.

NASCAR decided to suspend Houston as he was appointed as the front tire changer, rather than the person responsible for the front wheel changes. NASCAR did this intentionally. They knew very well that it was Hicks, not Houston, who was responsible for changing the front tyre and taking the wheel off.
