Hendrick Motorsports recently declared that Cliff Daniels would be replaced By Kevin Meendering as Chief of the interim crew
Kevin will be the chief temporarily since Cliff is serving a suspension due to a wheel falling off Larson's car at Sonoma Speedway
Currently, Kevin is Hendrick Motorsports' competition development manager. He will be heading the team for Larson's No. 5 Chevrolet vehicle at the Ally 400 this Sunday
Dale Earnhardt Jr., the driver of the #88 Mountain Dew Chevrolet, appreciated the decision. "Big fan of Kevin," He tweeted
He also said how Kevin helped him win a few races. "Always hoped he would get more opportunities'', he further added
41-year-old Mendeering has made 21 Cup series starts for Hendrick and recorded three wins, 39 top-five finishes, and 77 top 10s in 98 Xfinity series starts
Kevin will also do three Xfinity races for Hendrick, including Larson at Road America, on July 2
Larson also won last year's race alongside Daniels. The 2021 Cup series champion will look to carry the day again beside Meendering
