The Los Angeles Rams reportedly existed in contact with free-agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore forward of the 2022 season. If the defending Super Bowl winners can get downhill to Gilmore this offseason, they would have an abandoned NFL shielding player of the year, contrary to All-Pro corner Jalen Ramsey.
The NFL world put up with Twitter and responded to what could be the best second unit in the federation. “A Rams defense with Donald, Ramsey, Wagner, and Gilmore three years before would have attacked anxiety into the hearts of any destructive man. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an alarming assortment of performers today as adequately, but all of them concurrently in their peaks would have been exceptionally powerful,” one fan wrote.

Various fans interviewed how the Rams would be qualified to pull this scheme off under the salary cap. “I’m fully persuaded that the earnings cap is not a stuff,” one fan wrote.
“Where are the rams finding this cap space??!” another asked.
The Rams have already created some substantial spirals in free agency this offseason, containing the signings of superstar linebacker Bobby Wagner and retired Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson. In 2021, Gilmore logged his fifth Pro-Bowl assignment in his initial vocation season with the Carolina Panthers.
The two-time All-Pro intersection notched two interceptions and two passes protected through eight games in Charlotte. It made $6.2 million as a partner of the Panthers organization this preceding season. If Gilmore were to concede to a contract with the Rams in 2022, it would probably appear at a substantial discount from what he could earn elsewhere in the association.
